Galaxy S7 Battery

The new Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are release. Theoretically it is impossible to take off the back cover door and just remove the battery from the new smartphones. Well, there is always a way to do it by your self.

Note, that Samsung warns that this has to be done only by an authorized  repair agent, as when you will try to remove it by yourself you can damage your phone, and this is not covered by your warranty.

How to Remove Battery on Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge?

To remove the battery on Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge we will have to do 4 steps.

  1. Turn Off the Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, Remove the Sim Card Tray
  2. Remove the Back Cover
  3. Remove the Circuit Board
  4. Remove the Battery

1. Turn Off the Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge and Remove the Sim Card Tray

First thing that you will have to do, is to take your device and to hold down the Power button for some seconds, then tap Power Off on the display. Your device will power off in some seconds.

Then you will have to take a paperclip and inset it in the small whole near the Sim Card Tray. The Sim Card Tray will be ejected. Take it off and proceed to the next step.

2. Remove the Back Cover

The back cover on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is glued to the phone. You will have to take an ordinary hair dryer and head up along the back cover sides of the device for about 2 minutes. Make sure the back cover glue adhesive will be enough warm.

When you made sure that back cover is heated, insert a credit card between back cover and the phone. Pay attention if your phone has the glass back cover. Don’t hurry. Use more plastic credit cards if you have, or some other thing plastic objects like guitar picks. Make sure you go all around and carefully remove the back cover.

3. Remove the Screws that Line the Perimeter of the Device

  1. Undo the 12 screws from the rear housing.
  2. Peel off the yellow tape and remove the Galaxy S7 loudspeaker assembly.Galaxy S7 Remove back cover 2
  3. Then remove the Galaxy S7 top cover and the Galaxy S7 wireless charging chip, be careful not to damage it.Galaxy S7 Remove back cover 3

For Galaxy S7 Edge:

4. Remove the Circuit Board

Now we will have easy to remove the circuit board from the device before removing the battery.

Now pry up the connectors to release the Galaxy S7 motherboard, and go to the next step to remove the battery.Galaxy S7 Remove back cover 4

Go to the next step to remove the battery.

For Galaxy S7 Edge:

  1. Disconnect the battery cable, power cable, display cable and the volume button cable.

2. Then better to use a pair of tweezers to remove the loud speaker module.

3. Pop off all the antenna cables and the fingerprint scanner cable.

4. Disconnect the earphone connector, front facing camera connector and the proximity and light sensor connector.

5. Lift up the motherboard then disconnect the charging port connector.

Now, follow the next step to remove the battery.

4. Remove the Battery

Remember that the battery is also glued to the front of the housing. You will have to hit it a little and that use you plastic card or some other plastic tools to help you to remove the battery. Lift up the battery slowly and carefully.
