It doesn’t matter how powerful is your computer, by the time passes it gets slower even if it’s Quad-Core with 16Gb of RAM. You load your computer with different programs, antivirus and other tools, you install them, then remove them. The slowdown is happening gradually, so you won’t notice it happening, but one day when doing something you’ll notice that it should be faster and it wasn’t always so slow.

Doesn’t matter how slow is it, there are many ways to recovering the performance of your PC, here we added some of most useful ways to speed up your Windows.

Delete programs you don’t use

I will tell you how to get more space and Ram, just delete the programs you do not use, for example some time ago you installed different program, now go to Control Panel > Add Remove Programs, and search from the list the programs you installed and do not use. Keeping them and not using it also means performance slowdown for your PC.

Delete the programs you do not use which were already installed on the PC. Usually when buying a PC, PC manufacturers install on the computer their programs, many are for trial-use, and many of them you’ll never use. Check all the list and be patient do not uninstall Drivers programs and Update Programs.

Limit the programs which run at Startup

When installing programs you don’t really know that many of them are starting to run at startup in background, and you will never notice that your program have some processes in the background running and eating your PC Performance. These programs use a lot of performance, as they always run, do some background updates and installing other things. To limit the programs which will run at startup for Windows Vista, XP and Windows 7 you have to go to Start > Run  and write: msconfig.msc  and then select tab Startup, here you will see a list of all programs which start at the same time with your computer, you can disable the programs you don’t need. For Windows 8 you have to go to Task Manager with Ctrl + Alt + Del and choose Task Manager, here you can disable the programs you do not want to run when your computer starts up.cide for yourself if you want a program to run at startup.

Clean up your hard disk

As you are using your computer for months, it start to collect different unnecessary temporary files, like system logs, setup and update files, temporary internet files and many more. These files also use your system performance and space. You should clean the. Start with Recycle Bin by erasing everything whats in it, sure if you don’t need whats there. Then go to your computer, right click on Drive C and select Properties, and select Disk Cleanup, this will clean you PC from all temporary and unnecessary files on your hard disk, you will get much more free space.

Do not run many programs at the same time

Maybe you do not realize that running many programs at the same time will use a lot of system resources and this will be a big impact on your PC, even if you realize that and try to close them, your PC will need some good minutes to recover from overloaded Memory and CPU. Try to run as less programs as you need, if you are planning to run more, just finish the job with programs you are running at the moment, close them and start others.

Make sure you have only one antivirus program, if you have more this will not necessary mean more security for your PC, this will mean a very bad performance as Antivirus is a program which always scans your computer, and two antiviruses will kill all performance, also two antivirus programs can have a conflict and not to run correctly, Find the best Antivirus program, even from Free Antiviruses you can find a good one. To remove the antivirus correctly go to Control Panel > Add Remove Programs   and choose the antivirus you want to uninstall.

Same thing about tabs in your browser, opening many tabs in your browser will eat a lot of PC performance, so try to open as less as you need for the moment, close the ones you do not need and open others. This will keep your PC with High Performance.

Do not keep data on Drive C

Keeping your data on drive C makes your computer run much slower, as drive C destination is to run the Operating System, and not other data. Try to keep your Drive C as clean as you can, and make sure to keep all your Documents, Setup Files, Videos on secondary drive, usually drive D. More free space on Drive C means more performance.
